Biography

I have PhD Agronomy (2001), MSc Plant Nutrition (1991) and BSc Agriculture (1988). Currently the Professor/Director of Research at the Horticultural Research Institute (NIHORT), Ibadan, Nigeria. I have over 28 year’s agricultural science experiences in local, regional and international Agricultural Research, Agribusiness, Agricultural Innovation Monitoring and Evaluation, Extension & Outreach in strengthening NIHORT’s linkages with partner   institutions   including   national   Economic   Communities,   Governments,   Agencies, National Agricultural Research Organizations, Universities, CGIAR centers and other advanced research  institutes,  the  private  sector,  NGOs,  farmer  organizations  and  other  stakeholders; thereby managing large, multidisciplinary projects across diverse cropping systems. I oversee and coordinated the design and operations of the international/national projects such as COLEACP, COLEAD, IFS and NIHORT PROJ9 horticultural productivity involving: Rapid and efficient monitoring of delivery of agronomic gain; Appropriate deployment of bio-fertilizers; Bundling necessary services; Farmer-led experimentation; Certification scheme for agronomy recommendations; Policy development and implementation and decision-making processes; Irrigation water for drought monitoring and planning, water governance and policy, and water resource management; nutrition as it relates to health and food security: malnutrition, policy, food safety, behavioral change, and dietary diversity; innovation and scaling science; organizational development and capacity strengthening in research and development; as well as social inclusion, gender and youth research. My research had resulted in over 205 scientific publication reprints of which had been requested for by colleagues all around the world and by libraries/institutions in advanced countries.  My activities have also resulted in the development of appropriate/sustainable innovative agricultural productivity, processing and utilization technologies for farmers and other stakeholders; reviewer/editor of many journals; chaired many conference sessions, invited/appointed as Group Leader Scientist, an who is who in Science honor and certified; certified for advanced relevant professional courses attendance and participation; reported in media for community development projects/programmes; a UN Entrepreneur  Mentor (Africa/Asia)  and  recently  a  recipient  Awardee  of Access  Agriculture Global Ambassador for best Agricultural Extension & Outreach communicator (Belgium/UK); among others. These are all indicated in my Resume. I am a strong believer in divine providence, hard work, good quality jobs, self-respect, personal integrity, peaceful resolution of conflicts and excellent leadership by example emulated from my bosses.   I am looking forward to years of more useful service to global community especially in sub-Saharan Africa and humanity in particular.   I am sure I have the potentials to attain greater heights and attributes to motivate professional colleagues and sub-ordinates to do the same.
