Biography

Dr. Snehashis Karmakar is an Assistant Professor of Plant Physiology and Biochemistry at the MITS Institute of Professional Studies (MIPS), Rayagada, Odisha, India. He obtained his Ph.D. in Plant Physiology from Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya (BCKV) and his M.Sc. (Ag.) in Plant Physiology from Banaras Hindu University (BHU). His research focuses on plant stress physiology, climate-resilient agriculture, crop physiology, plant biochemistry, molecular biology, and sustainable crop production. Dr. Karmakar has authored numerous research papers, review articles, and book chapters in leading international journals and publishing houses, including Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, CRC Press, and MDPI. He is the recipient of prestigious fellowships and academic distinctions, including the ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF (AIR-3), UGC Senior Research Fellowship, ICAR National Talent Scholarship, and GATE qualification. He also holds two granted Indian design patents in climate-smart agricultural technologies and serves as a reviewer for several high-impact international journals. His academic interests integrate fundamental plant science with precision agriculture and digital innovations to develop sustainable, climate-resilient agricultural systems.
